«Kataliz v promyshlennosti» (Catalysis in Industry) journal has been established on the initiative of "Kalvis" Publishing House under the auspices of "Alvigo" Company support (manufacturer of catalysts) and Institute of Catalysis, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Science. V.N. Parmon, Director of the Institute became the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. The first number of the journal has been issued in July, 2001. Known specialists from the institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Higher school, representatives of applied science, corporations, and the factories became members of the Editorial Board of the journal.

Since the year of 2009, OOO «MAIK Nauka / Interperiodica» together with Pleiades Publishing have started to publish and the Springer Publishing House to spread the English-language version of the «Kataliz v promyshlennosti» (Catalysis in Industry) journal. From the same year, the journal was included by the Highest Certifying Commission of the Ministry for Education and Science of the Russian Federation into the list of leading Russian reviewed scientific journals in which the results of dissertational researches are to be published. In 2013, the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, composed of several large institutes carrying out the catalysis investigations, entered into the composition of the journal founders. A new composition of the Editorial Council and Editorial Board was established. By the present time, the authoring auditory of the journal numbers ~ 1300 persons representing not less than 150 institutions and, with unconditional prevalence of the Russian works, has appreciable international character.
